is Tig Notaro?
Mathilde O'Callaghan Notaro (Tig Notaro) is an American stand-up comic, writer, radio contributor, and actress. She is well known for her deadpan comedy.
Childhood
& Early Life
Notaro was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on 24 March
1971. She daughter of Mathilde Cusack and Pat Notaro. Her brother Renaud
Notaro, who is works as a radio talk show host. The nickname Tig was given to
her by her brother.
Career
When Notaro living in Denver, Colorado, where she
became involved in the music industry. Where she was a band manager, working
under the name Tignation Promotions in the mid-'90s. When she promoting bands
in Los Angeles, where she tried stand-up for the first time in the late '90s.
Notaro was first appeared on Comedy Central Presents television sitcom
"The Sarah Silverman Program" as a lesbian police officer. Notaro
released her debut stand-up album "Good One" In 2011. In 2012, she
released her second album "Live".
In 2012, Notaro appeared in American late-night talk
show "Conan", and in the live episode of "This American
Life", and in the television series "Inside Amy Schumer". In
November 2015, Notaro co-wrote, produced, and starred in television series
"One Mississippi". In 2015, her first stand-up one-hour special
programe "Tig Notaro: Boyish Girl Interrupted" was released by HBO.
In April 2018, Notaro appeared in the second season of "Star Trek:
Discovery" as Chief Engineer Jett Reno. On July 30, 2012, Notaro was
diagnosed with cancer in both breasts and had a double mastectomy with no
reconstructive surgery. Notaro was
hospitalized and she has been completed tratment. As of June 2016 she is
cancer-free.
Notaro was nominated in 2014 for the "Grammy Award
for Best Comedy Album" at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards for her album
"Live".
